Amen! Goes right along with what I have been processing and thinking about lately. It also provides more insight to what we discussed at lunch yesterday. God is already giving me some direction. Thank you for your friendship and for the privilege to walk alongside you through some of this.

Hi John, I hope you remember me from Peggi Vogt Willis I am her sister by flesh and by CHRIST, praise God for that. Your vision is incredible and totally understood, Gods heartbeat is exactly that of his people we have become so organized and such a business. We need to feed the souls of people and meet them where they are without any judgement. I know the Lord is trying to tell us exactly this to minister to the ones who are hurting that is why he died for us. I know we need to have some organization for function but more ministry instead of how pretty the carpet in the church. Our priorities need to change then he can bless all of our efforts in our life as well as our motives. If we could just fervently truely follow him for one day with no distractions, wow He would be so pleased with us. Thank you for your heart in following His Will and submitting to it. I will pray your ministry will be blessed abundantly. In Him, Gail Schneider

Well written bro. The church is people, not places. I look forward to the adventures in Christ he will guide us through.

John.....

WOW! This article blew me away! Your journey continues as God lays HIS plan and design on your life.

I was encouraged, as I too have felt this way many times in my Christian walk. Dan and I attended a church for a year and then decided to become members. One Sunday we were brought before the congregation and welcomed as "new members"...the next Sunday the entire staff and senior pastor resigned in front of the congregation. Lost? Rejected? Confused? You bet we were!!!

Organized church most certainly a place in our society. It is the magnet that draws believers (and non-believers) together to fullfill the need to seek the answers that we secretly ask ourselves. It quenches the guilt that has been placed on us through our lives that we SHOULD go to church. It can educate the Christian in many ways. It provides fellowship and direction for people that would not otherwise know how to seek the truth.

But what you have written in this piece, reflects EXACTLY what God wants our church to be. Not traditional attendence for the sake of the man-made laws to bring in the tithings but rather to gather HIS tithings and place them at HIS feet in EVERY step of our days.

I had to laugh over the snow storm in Omaha. The cancellations of churches that began on Wednesday evening of the Christmas Eve services appeared to be only the Chritian Churches and non-denominational. The Catholic churches were not closing. At first I couldn't believe it but then I began to remember what it was like being Catholic...Easter and Christmas were the most crowded times for their church services. I then realized that these people who would risk their families through the storm most likely were going to fullfill their obligation and it saddened me to think that THIS is what Church was for them.

Anyway...just my thoughts! Thanks for all you do!
