John Smid resigned from Love In Action in 2008. He had served that ministry for 22 years. John was also very involved in a ministry called Exodus International. he served on their board of directors for 11 years. Leaving this ministry had come after a very challenging and painful season in his life. As he began his transition, John breathed a prayer, “I don’t know what is in store for me, but God, surprise me with what you want for my life. I don’t want to contrive my future in my own will. I want what you want.”
John wants to share with you the surprises that God brought to his life. These experiences were challenging for John, but also shows how God began to open up John’s heart. Please enjoy.

Transitions – “John, you have deviated from the truth.”
After John began to speak publicly about what he was discovering, he received a letter from a friend who is a pastor. The letter challenged John’s perspectives and John wrote a reply that is very though provoking and insightful.
After the previous post, a friend sent me a question.
Dear John,
I still don’t understand what you are saying at times. I was involved in extra marital affairs, I lost my marriage and am attempting to start fresh with my sexuality, and in my walk with Christ. Could I have stayed in adultery, without repentance, and still been a faithful Christian? Help me understand this.
